ABOUT: Inter/Micro 2010 celebrates its 62nd anniversary! The McCrone Research Institute celebrates its 50th anniversary and its 50th anniversary of hosting the conference. This year the international microscopy symposium will be held entirely at the McCrone Research Institute.
Inter/Micro is an international conference dedicated to applied microscopy. This year’s conference will cover recent advancements in instrumentation, techniques and applications in the field of microscopy and microanalysis. Technical sessions will include microscopical applications of Polarized Light Microscopy and Chemical Microscopy; Computer, Digital and Video Imaging; Infrared and Raman Methods; Pharmaceutical Sciences; Indoor Air Quality; Environmental and Occupational Health; Forensic Science; and Art Conservation and Authentication.
WORKSHOP: “Animal Hair Identification” will be taught by Skip Palenik, a leading forensic microscopist. This two-day workshop will introduce the techniques and practice of animal hair identification by microscopy.
“EVENING WITH BRIAN”: Prof. Brian J. Ford of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University will explain why television documentary producers won’t screen programs on the astonishing world of the microscope and why television commentators seem convinced that the subject will not work on TV.
Microscopy & Microanalysis 2010 Meeting
Date: Aug 1, 2010 (All day), Oregon Convention CenterThe program committee has developed a strong program highlighting the latest microscopic and microanalytical advances in fields such as nanotechnology, biological sciences, materials science, clinical diagnoses, and metallurgy. Many interdisciplinary symposia have been organized, reflecting the current environment of collaboration between scientists in different disciplines.
