Best Student Presentation Awards

As a Co-sponsor of the Annual Meeting of the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB), the American Microscopical Society sponsors Best Student Presentation competitions for student members of AMS who present talks and posters on research that uses microscopy. Winners of the best talk and best poster presentation competitions s receive a cash prize. 

 

Presentations are judged on the presentation of background information, methods (especially microscopy), significance of the research, and ability to answer questions.  The research being presented should include significant data obtained by using microscopy (light, fluorescence, SEM, TEM, microCT, etc.) that was required to address the objectives of the investigation.

To enter the AMS Best Student Presentation competitions, students should register for the meeting and submit an abstract for a talk or poster through the SICB Annual Meeting website (https://sicb.org/events/upcoming-events/). Then, in the section of the registration form concerning Best Student Presentations, select the AMS Best Student Presentation Awards.
