AMS Buchsbaum Image Contest
Do you have a favorite micro or macro-image of a biological subject you’d like others to see? It could be the winner of the AMS Buchsbaum Image Contest at the Annual SICB Meeting!
Contest rules:
-
There are separate categories for Gray Scale, Color, and micro-CT images.
-
Images taken using microCT, macrophotography, and any type of microscopy, including transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), any type of light microscopy, and confocal scanning laser microscopy, are eligible.
-
Entries must be original images, created by the SICB attendee submitting them (i.e., the image author).
-
The contest is open to all SICB meeting participants; up to 3 entries each. AMS membership is welcomed but not required.
-
Submissions must be unmounted prints on 8.5x11 inch paper, with maximum image dimensions of 8 X 10 inches. Entries must be unlabeled and unsigned. A single line of information identifying the subject (e.g., “Mouth parts of a mite”) and stating the imaging technique (e.g., “SEM”) must be included below the image.
-
Entries must be submitted at the AMS booth by noon on the second full day of the SICB meeting. Voting on entries begins after lunch on the second full day of the SICB meeting and concludes with the end of poster session on the third full day of the meeting.
-
Authors retain all rights to images entered in the contest. The winning authors grant permission to AMS to publish the winning images on the AMS website and in AMS Social Media. If a winning image has been published previously, the author must obtain the appropriate permission from the holder of the copyright for its use by AMS.
